A new species of Curculionidae (weevil), which attacks the inflorescences of coconut, Cocos nucifera, is described in the type Cholus. Its potential as a major pest of this crop is discussed. Photographs are presented. A key for the identification of 4 species group of Cholus spinipes is included with reference to their distribution in the region Caribbean.
